Tough Time of Year

Shalom my friends and welcome back.  I just wanted to share some thoughts with you today.  As I sat in my car driving home from work, I was listening to a Christian radio network that I usually enjoy.  They are really talking up the term christmas this year and how it is so wrong for people to use the term holiday to replace christmas in the name of political correctness.  As far as political correctness, I stand right with them, I am SICK of it as well!  Today however the announcer said if it weren't for christmas there would be no holiday.  All these people who are so against christmas are just unamerican and disrespecting the work of Christ!

First, I stand amazed how these seminary trained, well studied men and women who speak on these shows are so "uneducated".  With almost no study, any person on earth can find out that there was a holiday long before christmas, the celebration of the unconquered sun on December 25th.  When "Christ worship" was meshed in with this festival, it would become "christmas."

Second, I do not condemn or judge christmas keepers.  I was one myself not so long ago and when I celebrated christmas my intentions were absolutely pure.  Now however my Father and soverign elohim has chosen to reveal these traditions of the past to me (he led me to study), so for me to continue to celebrate christmas would bring defilement.

I am good with all of this.  I just found myself thinking while driving down the road, normally I am just an oddity to the world, but this time of year it seems I've become an enemy not only of the world but more especially of the church!  It just crossed my mind that this is a tough time of year, but so be it.  If I have to stand against the entire world and the "organized church" to keep myself holy before my merciful, gracious Father, BRING IT ON!!!!!

Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Yahweh bless you and keep you.  Grace and love in the name of Yahushua Messiah.

Your brother and servant,

David

Is it possible that we may have been misled about some Biblical truths?

O YHWH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.   Jeremiah 16:19

Hello again and welcome!  Here is a verse from the prophet Jeremiah that answers todays question.  Jeremiah is speaking to Yahweh (YHWH) and saying to Him that the Gentiles (that's us unless you know you are of Jewish descent) shall come to Him and say our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things that have no profit.  I have found that indeed my fathers were misled by their fathers and they taught these lies to me without even knowing it.  I am not here to destroy everything you believe, please know that Father Yahweh has brought some things to light in my life that I would like to share with you all.  Let me know what you think about these things.

Let me start with an example.  Do you recognize this picture?  Obviously it is a picture of Yahushua (Jesus).  This picture is recognized by all and is beautiful.  But you should be aware that this is the image that man has taught us to have of Christ, through these drawings and pictures.  Let's look at 1 Corinthians 11:14.  "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?"  We know that Christ lived a sinless life on Earth and never brought shame upon himself or his Father!  The picture is not a big deal, I just want you to see that we can trust no man for truth about the Bible.

We are told in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 to prove all things.  We just proved that this is not an accurate picture of our Messiah.  If this is how you have always pictured Yahushua, then I would just ask you to think about what else you have been taught about the Bible and then check it against the Bible to prove its truth.  I have been studying for 12 years now and I still find things I "knew" were in the Bible, but after diligently seaching, I am shocked AGAIN to find out I was wrong.  The journey to truth is just that, a journey.  If I have provoked thought then I would be honored to walk with you on your journey.  If I have stepped on your toes please forgive me and know I will probably do it again.

YHWH bless you and keep you until we talk again.

With the love of Messiah,

Glory To Your Name

Those who know me, I mean really know me, know that I have a heart for unity in the body of Messiah.  I have seen so much division, so many Christians hurting Christians, that I am intent on seeing Yahushua’s words walked out; “that they may be one, even as we are one.” John 17:22

Although it may seem like a stark contrast to the statement above, I am very different from most “mainstream” Christians in that I observe the 7th day Sabbath, follow Torah, and use the Hebrew names of the Father and the Messiah, Yahweh and Yahushua.  It is the use of these names that I want to discuss.  Let us be clear however, before I go any further, that I do not condemn or look down on any believers who do not follow Torah, and use the Hebrew names.  We worship the same Father and are saved by the blood of the same Messiah.  We are brothers and sisters if we are of Messiah.

When I began using the Hebrew names of Father and Messiah it was because as I studied the word I found over and over where we are commanded to so, I’ll discuss that shortly, so when I found out what the Hebrew Names were I just assumed that most people didn’t know the names just as I had not known them.  However, over the last several years I have found that almost everyone knows the name Yahweh and many know the name Yahushua.  This has been a great surprise to me because the verses which I will show make it clear that Yahweh wants us to know his name, call on his name, and be known by his name.  We will see where we are to glorify his name.  He doesn’t say to  glorify him, but to glorify his name.  His is the name above all names.

With this being said I want to share something that just puzzles me to no end.  So often as I listen to different speakers, preachers, ministers, or evangelists when they pray, I hear the same thing over and over again.  “God, today I want to glorify and lift up your name!”   “Father, we come together to praise your holy name, oh God…”  Why do we glorify and praise his name but call him by a title?  There are many, many false gods.  Babylon had a sun god, Egypt had a god or goddess of almost everything,  Hindu’s have a god, Muslim’s have a god, Buddhist’s have a god, and Christians have a god.  The term “god” however is a title, not a name.  I am a paramedic, but when people speak to me they don’t walk up and say “Hi paramedic, how are you today?”  They say “Hi David, how are you today?”  This title, god, is so loosely used today as well.  I have heard the term “rock gods” referring to rock musicians.  A woman involved with information technology calls herself the “electronic goddess.”  Certainly as much as this term is thrown around today we wouldn’t want to use it to label the omnipotent, omnipresent, and holy creator of the universe.

Here are some scriptures to read and pray for understanding about.
You should know that where I have used the name Yahweh in the following scripture reference, most bibles will use the term, the LORD, but most prefaces will explain how they replaced the name Yahweh with “the LORD.”
  • Yahweh told us his name:
Exodus 3:15  And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Yahweh, God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Memorial to all generations;  This means that every generation of Yahweh’s children
               should remember his name.

Exodus 20:7  Thou shalt not take the name of Yahweh,  thy God in vain;

Isaiah 42:8  I am Yahweh: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

1 Peter 4:11 says “ If anyone speaks, let it be as the Words of Yahweh,”     So let us speak
as Yahweh spoke;  He never called himself “god”, “the Lord”, “HaShem”, or “Adonai”.
 He said “I am Yahweh”.

·         We are called by his name:
2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins and heal their land.

·         We are to call on his name:
Joel 2:32  “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of יהוה shall be delivered.

Romans 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of YHWH shall be saved.

Psalms 54:1  Save me, Oh god, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Psalms 148:13  Let them praise the Name of Yahweh, For His Name alone is exalted

·         Isaiah 52:6  “Therefore My people shall know My Name”

We are to be called by his glorious and most holy name, Yahweh!  If we all know his name then why in the world don’t we call him by his name?  The answer is this (I believe).  We speak what we heard our parents speak and they heard their parents speak and so on.  A brother and I recently discussed some differences in our beliefs, as we talked I noticed he kept saying the same thing again and again, “well I was always taught…”  I am not coming against this dear brother but that is exactly what happened to most of us, we were always taught….   My Father Yahweh brought me to a point where I had to forget all that I had been taught and find out for myself what his word says.  I can’t explain how much closer I feel  to my Father now that I know his real name.  Sadly, the scholars who translated our bibles into Latin and then into English have done exactly what the bible said not to do.  Revelation 22:19  says “and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Yahweh shall take away his part from the Book of Life.”  Also, Deuteronomy 12:32  “What thing so ever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”  Clearly the translators have added the words God and Lord and diminished the name Yahweh.  Why?  When you find out, let me know!

Yahweh bless you and keep you!  Peace and love in the name of our Messiah, Yahushua.
